Goldfields, Victoria: Colony of Victoria. No. 47448 [and 47448]. Five Shillings. District & Place in which issued (in ms.) "Stawell" Date (in ms.) "14 December 1866". [TWO CONSECUTIVE] MINER'S RIGHT[S]. Issued to (in ms.) "Duncan McKellar" of (in ms.) "Pleasant Creek" under the provisions of the "Mining Statute 1865," No. 291, to be in force until (in ms.) "13th December 1867". [Imprint; vertically] By Authority: John Ferres; Government Printer. Lightly folded, in fine condition; scarce. [Stawell; Government of the Colony of Victoria; 1866].
***A very rare consecutive pair of original Miner's Rights, printed on paper and issued to Duncan McKellar, the two bearing the same dates of commencement and term, but the second bearing the superscription BS. 23.2.67. It would seem that there was some error in the issuing of two identical Rights. A most unusual survival. #68218
