Burmese Manuscript: A BURMESE-CAMBODIAN MANUSCRIPT BOOK. A large (390 by 180 by 105 mm) folded accordion-style [leporello] manuscript book, the content probably a Buddhist religio-philosophy text written in Shan script, comprising 192 openings, double-sided, i.e. 384 pages, 10 lines to the page on parabaik paper in several sections glued together, the covers in elaborate red-lacquered papier-mache relief decorated with mirrored glass, all edges also decorated in red lacquer; (the lower board detached; covers a little dusty, the mirrored glass cracked with some pieces missing; some occasional mild staining and some marginal, only, worming to a few leaves, not affecting text); notwithstanding the minor faults mentioned a very good, sound example of an interesting style of book production. Burma (?); Producer Unknown; N.D. [c. 1900 ?].
